What better way to put a smile on your co-workers' OT (overtime) faces and say Merry Christmas than to make S'mores candies? ;)

So, here is our first attempt to a non-wedding related DIY project two months after our wedding.   We did such a good job avoiding any projects but we can't stop ;)  Ha, I can't and I found myself dragging my husband  to print, cut and stay up late with me again - oh, the joys of DIY-ing.  I'm sure he had as much fun as I did.  =P  He played Santa yesterday giving out the little bags of treats!  =)

Anyway, because of the S'mores we weren't able to send any Christmas cards to our friends and families (OK, not really) but we are hoping to get our thank you cards soon which will be better anyway so keep an eye out.   =)

Well, we wish everyone a wonderful Christmas!  Keep your feet warm and toasty!

Love,
The Raports

S'mores Candies

(from ProjectWedding, we changed it up a little bit)

Ingredients:

1 bag of large marshmallows
1 package of semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 package of milk chocolate chips
1 package of cinnamon or honey Graham crackers or Graham cracker crumbs

Begin by placing the Graham crackers in a strong ziplock bag, and use a rolling pin to crush them until they are finely ground.  Then place them in a small bowl.

Combine a cup of the semi-sweet chocolate chips and less than 1/4 cup of the milk chocolate.  (We added the milk chocolate to break the bitterness of the semi-sweet chocolate chips).  Then heat the chocolate chips in a double-boiler (carefully!).
If you are using the microwave, heat the chocolate chips for 2 minutes or until they are melted and somewhat runny.

Using a skewer, carefully dip a marshmallow in the chocolate mixture until completely covered.  Then gently roll the sides and top of the marshmallow in the Graham cracker crumbs until they are well-coated.  Place on a plate or on wax paper to let cool and dry.  Repeat.

Repeat 200 times.  LOL!
